Roderick Clifford Ackerman

Roderick 'Roddie' Clifford Ackerman was born to Wilbert Starling Ackerman

and Elizabeth Constable on 13 Mar 1921 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. They family

moved to Calgary and struggled through very hard times. Roddie worked as a bus

boy at the Palacer Hotel at one time and drive tour bus at Lake Louise. He married

Ruth Penelope Wales on Oct 23, 1941. They moved to Edmonton where their son Roderick

Merton was born. Roddie worked as a sales clerk and then a aircraft mechanic for Aircraft Repair

Ltd. He died of a massive intestinal hemorrhage on 6 May 1943 in the Royal Alexandra Hospital in

Edmonton at the age of 22 years, 1 month and 23 days. He is buried in Beechmount Cemetery,

Edmonton, Alberta.
